After my first blog entry to the Magic: The Gathering Xbox Live game and with the new 2012 version I thought I could do it again and gather all ways to solve the challenges in the game for everyone to try them out and get the achievements for this.

Challenge: Rumble in the Jungle (vs. Garruk Wildspeaker)

Both you and Garruk have only 2 life. Using the few creatures you still have left, blunt Garruk’s final assault and defeat him.

This one is pretty easy:

  • Garruk will attack you
  • Block with ‘Runeclaw Bear’ and ‘Barony Vampire’
  • You will know enter your Main Phase and got only 1 life left
  • Play the Swamp (or just press Y to get into the Combat Phase)
  • Attack with ‘Gloomhunter’

Congratulations you won your first Challenge and you got your ‘Magic: The Puzzling’ Achievement

Challenge: In the Spider’s Web (vs. Kiora Atua)

Kiora has 6 life while you only have 1. Negate Kiora’s lethal attack, then defeat her.

  • Kiora will attack you with ‘Storm Crow’
  • Block with your untapped ‘Furnace Whelp’
  • You draw a Basic Land and play it
  • Attack with both of your ‘Furnace Whelp’s
  • Pause the game directly after Kiora blocked your ‘Furnace Whelp’ with her ‘Giant Spider’
  • Activate the Ability of your other ‘Furnace Whelp’ and use all your Mana

more coming soon …

After 6 Years of playing Guild Wars and finally seeing more and more Videos, Interviews and reveals of Guild Wars 2 I’m really excited of what ArenaNet is serving me again. When I think about it, man, 6 years is quite something. But thats not what I wanted to talk about, I don’t understand how people are this narrow minded if it is about the features of Guild Wars 2. To tell the Truth Guild Wars 2 is THE GAME I always wanted, a MMORPG where you can really feel to be a part of the world. I remember playing with a friend and joking about a quest where a village is attacked and you are standing in the village with NPCs and some Monsters … and nothing happens. And, fuck yeah, Guild Wars 2 has that, you see what is happening.
Even with the new Class reveals like the Engineer there are some people who say that it doesn’t fit into this fantasy genre of Guild Wars. I would lie if i tell you that the Engineer is my favorite Class, no, but I think it is interesting to see something like that 250 years after Guild Wars 1. Same thing with the Holy trinity (Tank, healer, Damage dealer) after playing a Rogue in WoW you know what I mean, nobody wants you, but not because you are not that good but rather because you are a Rogue. Guild Wars 2 doesn’t have this combination and on the first thought I was like “hö, i hope that works” but after seeing and playing the game it is just perfect now if you want to form a group you won’t find in the chat something like “Healer Rank 12871203 LFG” or “GLF Healer/Tank/DD” which is really good. Hell how often were I in “The Depth” in Guild Wars and we needed only one Monk and we found not a single one.
But as usual there are people out there who doesn’t want changes. If you don’t want it that way go play WoW or ffs all the other crappy Grinding games out there and yeah I think I played them all. ArenaNet is trying to do something new like they did with Guild Wars, a full Online game with no monthly fee (free2play games aren’t mentioned here) and I think thats the only one you find out there and they will do it again with Guild Wars 2.

I read a comment today (or rather yesterday) that said something like “I tried Guild Wars but it looks like crap, something like WoW”. I read it twice because I couldn’t believe it, Guild Wars doesn’t look like WoW AT ALL how can you mistake a Comic graphic of WoW with the more real graphics of Guild Wars? Please tell me … and yeah it doesn’t look like Battlefield 3 or Black ops because its freaking 6 years old and I must say it looks way better for a 6 years old game than some other games (I played Dungeon Siege 2 recently and it is also 6-7 years old).

But I must say, Guild Wars isn’t the easiest Game because if you get a trail account you will start in the very first Chapter of Guild Wars … Prophecies and there you got more Story than progress. If you really want to see what Guild Wars is made of get Guild Wars: Factions there you will be max level in like 10 hours.
And yeah Guild Wars is different … some love it, some dislike it – if you give Guild Wars a chance you will find out it is not that bad.

Spaming and Stuff like that is pretty popular today and even with the few friends I got on Facebook I see now and then some people who got some funny and sexual stuff on their wall. How does this happen? It’s pretty easy. If you are logged into your Facebook account other sites can access with JavaScript your Wall (and I even think not only your Wall) so they can post everything they want. Sometimes it’s just “you liked this” stuff but it is kind of, i won’t say embarrassing, but it could change the opinion of someone why you liked a specific link.

How to avoid getting caught by this stuff:
First of all if you get a message and there is a Link in it. If you don’t know the person simply ignore it or just read it but basically DO NOT click the link they send you that is the way this thing, whatever it is, spread so fast. Even if you know the person and you think “why does he/she send me something like that” … like I said DO NOT click on the link. That is the first thing you can avoid to get “infected”. The other thing is, if you use Firefox you can install a few Plug-ins that will help you to not only get this stuff but a lot of popular attacking methods on you, your data.

1. NoScript Link
NoScirpt is awesome it blocks all Scripts that will be executed on a website and is therefor the number 1 tool to avoid the fishing, hijacking websites.

2. Adblock Plus Link
Adblock blocks advertisement … and more to keep your browser free of these annoying Advertisement.

3. WOT Link
WOT is a Plugin that is embedded after every link in Firefox and display the user with different colors if the link is trustworthy or not and even if you click on the link you get a message that will tell you “hey this site is not good for your browser”. Even this Plug-in for itself should be enough to protect yourself from the Facebook links.

4. Norton (Optional)
I use the Norton Internet Security and since the 2009 version they got the “Norton Toolbar” which not only can store your passwords encrypted and will fill the login boxes with User-name and Password for you. The next great stuff of Norton is that when you enter a website that can harm your browser or even your computer you will get a warning screen first and you can decide if you want to visit the side or leave it.

Pros:
+ If you use the Plug-ins you are well protected against the attacks nowadays
+ easy to use
+ all (Norton excluded) free available
+ If there is a newer version of the Plug-in you now it because Firefox will notify you

Cons:
- for the first time after installation it’s quite annoying to add all the websites you don’t want to block with NoScript but after you allow this website once (if you trust it) you don’t need to allow it again. (you can forbid the execution of scripts anytime you want to and every new website you encounter will be blocked first even if you allowed the main website)
- Norton cost money but protect you with Firewall, Antivirus software and protects your browser

It’s pretty easy to fall into the traps but now after you download and installed the Plug-ins or even Norton it won’t be that easy anymore.

BUT Even the best Protection is useless if you click, download or allow access something that will harm your browser or computer. Be careful in the Internet it’s not that clean as we think.

I think it’s been a year know when i stumbled over some videos on Youtube. I was quite stunned by them.
Oh, what I’m talking about? Right. I’m talking about Tracks like Alice, Bangarang, Skynet Symphonic, Gardyn or Upular. Doesn’t ring a bell yet? Okay I’m talking about a guy named Nick Bertke.
Still nothing? okay okay it’s Pogo. He does “remixes of films and TV shows” but in my opinion he is a genius who is creating new music through little voices, sounds and other stuff of Films and Shows. Well it’s still a matter of opinion if you like it or not but I like his music, not all of them (nobody is perfect), but many. Now he announced a Project for his upcoming album where he “travel the world capturing sights, sounds, voices and chords, and use them to compose and shoot a track and video for each major culture of the world.” Source.

And because I really like to see the results of this work I backed him up (and to get “The executive bundle” ;) )

So if you are interested check out his page pogomix.net and the page of his project on kickstarter.com and of course his youtube channel

A year ago I bought a USB-Turntable to listen to my 12″ The Prodigy disc. I don’t know anymore how I got it running at this time but after I ordered the Makai – Beneath the Mask (Ill skillz remix) Vinyl disc I needed to get the turntable running again. No Manual, no Software and no clue how I should do it. Now I know how and I will share it with you.

It’s really simple. If you plug in the USB-Turntable it is nothing else than a simple microphone. All you need to do is start the software to record the Vinyl (for example Audacity). How do I listen to the Vinyl through my PC speakers? Yeah, thats what I asked myself too. First you need to open the Recording devices, Right click on the Microphone and select Properties. Select the 2nd tab “Listen” and check the box “listen to this device”.

Tada all done. Now you can listen to you Vinyl discs

After the GamesCom in Cologne I was quite excited, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was really great. Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood was also a “must have” game, now … after I played them I’m quite dissapointed.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood:
Don’t get me wrong I like that game but it has some things I can’t understand. First of all the ending of the Singleplayer, until then the game was awesome (okay again crappy controlls), texture popups, some bugs (i got stuck in the aqueduct after renovating it). The Multiplayer is kind of strange. There is a action to avoid getting killed but it seems that it doesnt work or I’m to slow because my thumb is the whole time on “X”.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
I can tell you after the GamesCom I was really excited to play this game. Now after I played it I can tell you, if you are a normal racing-game player, don’t even think about getting this game. It’s so damn difficult after you reached the exotic Series. After 20 tracks as racer I couldn’t get any Gold medals anymore. Why? Everytime you do a Takedown (as racer: destroy an other racer) the Racer falls back, regenerate completely and is back on the track. EMPs doesn’t work in SP and I didn’t try them in MP. I don’t know I can’t get room between me and the second, if I even get the first place, because you can choose the fastes car in the game but the racers and cops will be behind you after the next turn. I promise. And the problem with that is, you can’t even turn it off.

A few days ago I watched Resident evil, the first movie. And in the intro is the description of the Umbrella Corp. and immediatly I noticed the voice of the narrator.

I kind of knew this voice AND this specific text. I’m certain that I heard this in one DnB track. So I started to search my music even with only the first 6 seconds (I were certain the voice started at the beginning of the track) it took me more then 8 hours to determine that I dont got the track anymore. I tried every combination in google of resident evil, virus, t-virus and so on but nothing encouraging. A few days later I started a post at bassdrive.com and asked for help. Who could help me if you only know some lyrics from a film that you heard some time ago in a music track? I kept looking for the track and finally I found it on a CD back from 2007. It was exactly the track I was looking for but … no title, only Titlenumber 5. Yeah thats some title. I downloaded Tunatic a cool programm to analyse the music through your microphone and it search for the band and title. “Corrupt Souls – Brood X” were the title. After some tracks on youtube I could tell thats not “Brood X”. But I kept “Corrupt souls” in mind and continued my search after quite some time I though “why dont you listen to all Corrupt souls tracks” so I let tunatic analyse the track again and downloaded iTunes and found all Corrupt souls tracks … I started at the top of the list … Dropzone? no, but hey you know this track too! Broadcast? wait… hell yeah it is broadcast …

Have fun

Yes, I dont drink any alcohol. Never. And thats okay, I don’t need that. Why? I don’t know, I just never drink any alcohol. But the reaction to this conviction is kind of funny.

14-18: “OMFG you’re so out. No alcohol? go away outsider!” or “oh come on you are so boring”
18-20: “you wanna drink somethin? oh come on whats wrong with you?”
20-25: “hey you don’t drink anything with alcohol” *strange glimpse*
25 and above: “you don’t drink any alcohol? Wow thats cool! How did you do that?”

Okay okay, one reason because i don’t drink any alcohol is that it is funny to witness the people how they lose controle over their body.

Try it! It’s really funny! xD
